主席的信─國際議題:南海主權爭議 Sovereignty in the South China Sea
Distinguished
Delegates in DISEC,
It is my honor to welcome you as a delegate this year. My name is Hsin-Ju Wu, currently a sophomore at National Taiwan University and the director of administration of NTUMUN. It is my pleasure to serve as your chair of NYS 2015, which will be my 7th conference and the fourth time serving in dais in my MUN career. Lin Gung-Yu and Chuang Hsaio-Chun will serve as your assistance chairs for the conference. They are both juniors in Taipei First Girls’ High School and they are also enthusiastic about MUN. We, the dais team, are dedicated to providing you a professional but interesting MUN experience.
Some of you may be a first-timer while some are very familiar with MUN. For first-timers, I believe you have made a really wise choice to start a fantastic journey. You will meet many aspiring youth and broaden your horizon. As for experienced MUNers, this conference is a great opportunity for you to cultivate on spirit of cooperation and show your unlimited potential.
Th situation in South China Sea has been an issue haunting East Asia for a long time. The complicated geological conditions, national defense significance and potential abundant resources are increasingly being fought over by surrounding nations, while interference by international government organizations and the political wretch among countries tips the power balance of nations all over the world. I wish delegates can dissolve the complex status quo, understand the past actions and brainstorm a feasible resolution while adhering to reality.
This winter, we will meet as strangers but will definitely part as one, sharing true belief on world peace. I wholeheartedly hope NYS 2015 can be as inspiring and momentous as all my past MUN conferences, and strengthen your faith and pride in being a world citizen. I can’t wait to grow with all of you!
Sincerely,
Hsin-Ju Wu
Chair, Disarmament and International Security Committee
